Welcome to Tucker Bleu Photography. My name is Cherrie Cornish, I am a photographer based in Salem/Keizer/Portland Oregon and my studio is in Monmouth, Oregon.  I specialize in custom portraits of babies and children and have branched out to high school seniors. I like to mix it up between outdoor natural light and studio portrait sessions. Here on my blog you'll find sneak peeks from recent sessions, a link to contact me, and lots of other good stuff.  If you like what you see on my blog and would like to capture special memories of the faces you love, please give me a call. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful Mamma

This beautiful Mamma welcomed her new little one into the world early this morning. Congratulations.

A First

This was a new first for me. Senior session with best friend in tow…. Jack the dog that is. He was perfectly behaved and I think he thought the session was all about him! We had a beautiful night for our session and it was fun to watch Jack explore new places….

video post

These are some of my thoughts after returning from 6 weeks in Ethiopia, working in Korah, with the children and families who survive off the local trash dump.  This experience has changed my heart and the way I now view my blessings here in the USA.  Please watch and let me know if you would like to know more, or how you can help.

Back in the USA

I’m back home now, but my heart is somewhere else. I left part of it in Ecuador, and the other part is in Korah, Ethiopia.  I got to see a whole new way of life. A way that doesn’t include fancy cars, drive thru restaurants, medical care or comfortable homes to live in. My world has been shaken. I see things differently now, my priorities have shifted, for the better I hope. Here are a few pictures from my time in Korah, Ethiopia.

Ecuador | travel photographer

Stories to follow later, but want to share these two pictures, both taken at a special needs orphanage, where the children cannot talk, feed themselves or walk without assistance.  But they are full of joy, and so very loveable………

mixed emotions | Oregon senior photographer

Well the time has finally arrived… it’s one that is filled with a mixture of emotions. A day that In so many ways I am anticipating and in other ways am so very sad for. My baby, my last child,  is graduating from high school and will continue his journey at Seattle Pacific University in the fall. He will be majoring in art. Oh gosh, where did the time go? How did so many days pass by in a flurry? I am so proud of him and all that he has accomplished so far in his 17 1/2 years, so looking forward to where the Lord will direct him in his future…. sigh.. mixed emotions…..

home from Ecuador | travel photographer

Three days before a Visiting Orphans team left for Ecuador, I found out I was going to be on trip too! I had no idea the day before that day that God was arranging my schedule and making a path clear for me to travel to Ecuador. But thru God’s miraculous ways, he made it clear to me that Ecuador was where I was supposed to spend the next week. Oh my, amazing huh! I already had everything in place to go, as I just got home from Ethiopia and Uganda 3 weeks ago, so all my immunizations were in order and I really wasn’t totally unpacked from that trip yet. And when the Lord says “Go” I’ve found that the quicker I’m obedient the smoother my life goes.  I was blessed beyond description on this trip by the adults and children I met in Ecuador. I truly felt as tho I was totally  ’in his will’ during this sweet time in South America. We spent one day visiting the children at the Dump Daycare. The only way for some parents to keep their children fed is by foraging for food in the local dump. Before the daycare was formed, the children were often taken to the dump  and left to fend for themselves and play amongst the filth  and machinery while their parents collected dinner. Now thru this Ministry, children are given the chance for an education and a healthy meal while their parents work next door at the dump. Here are some pictures I took of our team as we spent time there…

Day or Night?

I’m still working out my days and nights and trying to get my body adjusted to our time zone. I know it is going to take quite some time to emotionally process everything I experienced while gone. I miss my new friends so much. There just aren’t words to describe the situation I saw while in Korah.  There is just so many things wrong with Korah, but just as many things right with it too. Hard to explain and hopefully I’ll be able to express in words what I’m feeling in the next few days. For now here are just a couple more pictures I’ve been able to work on… the children are brother and sister.

Home

I finally got home from Africa late last night. I have so much to share but it’s going to take time to adjust to life back in America. My trip which started out to be only 10 days ended up lasting 22 days because of the volcanic activity in Iceland. I am so thankful that I got to stay the extra days, as I was blessed with opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.  I will share about the journey the Lord took me on in the following days. For now I leave you with this shot of one of the many beautiful faces of Korah.

Uganda Greetings | Africa Photographer

Right now sitting in a scene from the movie Out of Afrcia… where Robert Redford is out on Safari and Meryl Streep is along with him, sitting amoung the kerosene lanterns at a table lit by candles, the crickets are chirping sitting in our camp chairs… so quiet, so peacful. We arrived after our 17 hours on board KLM… the first blessing of the trip when we left Portland  was that Delta let our 5 totes filled shoes, tylenol, beef jerky, underwear and soap all going to the orphanages we are going to, fly for free. It was going to cost us $300 dollars to get them here, but they granted us grace. Thank you Lord.

No pictures to post tonight, but if wifi is available tomorrow, I’ll be sure to put up pictures.

We met up with our good friend Toni, in Amsterdam, it is so good to see her. Even tho it’s been since summer that we’ve seen each other, we pick up right where we left off.. that’s true friendship…

Goodnight from Entebbe.

April 8, 2010 - 7:15 pm Janell - So thankful the airlines let you take the supplies for no charge! God is so faithful...and so are you! I am happy you made it safely and can't wait to see some photo's. Praying for you guys! Love you, Janell

more spring

signs of Spring

Signs of Spring are starting to pop up at Bush Park. I went with my friend Robin today to capture some of the flowers that are starting to show themselves.

Haiti | Picture of the day

This past week I am saddened that Haiti has not received as much news coverage. The world has moved on to other current events of the day, but Haiti and it’s people have not. Their struggles continue, many continue to die post earthquake and it is a minute by minute challenge for them to survive physically and emotionally. As  look at this picture I can feel the love that this little family radiates, and I feel as tho the fathers eyes are piercing my soul.

Newborn Photographer | Salem Oregon

This little bundle of sweetness was so good as she had her picture taken. No matter how many newborns I photograph I marvel at each one and am touched by just how sweet and innocent and perfectly unique each new life is.

I always have fun when I spend the day with Miss Hope. We were out at the end of the day, trying to catch the last bit of light before the sun went down.  Later she amazed me with some of her new found talents. We were sitting at the computer together as I was processing this picture and all of a sudden she busts out whistling! And even to a tune… I think is was jingle bells…. I turned and looked at her, gave her a silly look and we both started laughing… never a dull or quiet moment when you are with Hope. I love it!  Oh, and I just read this to her, and she also wants you to know she can snap her fingers!

Senior Photographer | Salem Oregon

Did I say I love this picture? Well I love everything about this picture! This beautiful young girl made my job easy, she is full of energy and bright smiles and great personality. The hat and the colors in this just all came together…. LOVE IT!

February 12, 2010 - 5:52 am Robin - OH MY GOODNESS! I LOVE IT! She is gorgeous and you captured her beautifully!

wow!

I have never seen lashes like this little guys before! I knew as I was taking his pictures he had long lashes, but it wasn’t until I was post-processing his pictures that I realized just how long they were! Beautiful!

thirteen days!

Just 13 short days until Valentines Day!

February 3, 2010 - 4:28 am Summer Wood - She is definitely her daddy's valentine this year! :) This one is my favorite!

Haiti picture of the day

This was taken on a day trip we took to the Waterfall Church that our friend Pastor Lavaud had started. The little girl never did come out of the doorway, instead chose to observe us from the confines of her threshold.

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti….
